FREE Printable Patriotic Fourth of July Party

topofcenterpiece2

The Fourth of July has been one of my favorite holidays ever since my family started going to see the Macy’s Fireworks in New York City when I was a kid.  We’d spend the entire day camped out in the hot summer sun – waiting and somewhat bored.  It wasn’t until the fireworks started late that night that I realized why the last eight hours were worth it.  The gigantic bursts of red, white and blue against the Statue of Liberty backdrop reminded me about how lucky I was to live here.

Although we’re definitely not ready to trek to New York to see the fireworks with our kids yet (I hope to one day, though), the Fourth of July provides the chance to make everything look patriotic.  From our house to our summer entertaining, it’s a nice switch to add these festive colors between Memorial Day and Fourth of July.  Especially when transitioning from the springtime pastels.

This year, we’ve decided to give our readers and followers a special treat – a FREE printable patriotic Fourth of July party.  We’ve designed an entire Fourth of July party for you to enjoy.  It’s the perfect combination with a our sweet Fourth of July birthday invitations.

For this free printable collection, we combined classic stripes and polka dots to create a colorful design that is perfect for your barbecue, picnic or other patriotic event.  We recently used the collection to style a backyard afternoon dessert for the family (Little Bug has been begging me for cupcakes forever!).

Here are some ideas for how to create a casual Fourth of July party for your family and friends!

Our table was set in the classic red, white and blue theme. We started with a red placemat, added a white plate and topped the place setting with a decorative red plate. Underneath each white plate was a hand painted linen napkin featuring Liberty and America.

Along side each place setting was a utensils set including a wooden fork and spoon. Each set was wrapped in a white doily and slid inside a mini red striped bag. We topped each utensil with a red or blue star sticker.  What a cute way to decorate utensils!

I served root beer floats in milk bottles with red striped paper straws (always a child favorite). It was nice how such a simple drink idea felt so American.

cupcaketoppers

Chocolate cupcakes with vanilla icing and red, white and blue star sprinkles decked out the cupcake stand. We added some cupcake liners from our red, white and blue cupcake liner mix for some added color. Firecracker fruit parfaits served in mini dessert cups also added a patriotic touch.

Other desserts included star shaped raspberry jam sandwich cookies, patriotic fruit kabobs on wooden lollipop sticks and bags of popcorn styled in red polka dot bags (to save the bags from grease stains, put the popcorn first in a glassine bag and then in the polka dot bag).

At each place setting, we gave guests a Fourth of July inspired s’mores kit to enjoy at the party (the DIY will be coming soon).

Other decorations included handcrafted star candle holders, a patterned paper bunting and star cutouts placed throughout. We used one of the candle holders as a centerpiece on top of the cupcake stand. We filled the bottom with sand and added red, white and blue gumball tubes from our shop. We also included centerpiece circles and stars from the printable collection. Star cutouts were added to the cupcake stand for a patriotic feel.

Thanks so much! It was so much fun to style and Little Bug loved trying her first root beer float (we’re still working on the s’mores!). We love using those paper bags for food styling, but they can be difficult with greasy foods. The glassine bags saves us every time when we use them for popcorn and chips. They make a great liner! Hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July!
