Where are you located?

We are located in Northern Virginia. Any order shipped within Virginia is subject to a 6% sales tax.

Will the colors on my custom designs be the same as the colors that I see on my monitor?

The colors you see on your monitor may vary in the colors of the final product.  Even though the colors cannot be guaranteed, we work closely with our printers to make sure that the colors of the designs printed through our shop are as exact of a match as possible.  For digital designs, colors are determined by the printer you are using and the quality of paper.  If you find that the colors are extremely off (such as a pink instead of a red), please feel free to contact us.  We can try to make a slight change in the colors to help compensate for your printer.  There is a $5.00 fee per a color change for this service.

I ordered a digital invitation, how long until I receive my file?

Digital invitation proofs take one to two business days to create.  After the proof is approved, we will create your final digital files.  You should receive your finished file within one business day of an approved proof.

How long do custom printed orders take?

Custom printed orders are specially designed and crafted for you. They take about one week from start to finish to complete.  This includes a proof and printing services.  When ordering printed invitations, please allow at least 7 days before your mailing date for your invitations to be completed.  Feel free to send us the date of your event upon ordering to help ensure that you get your order on time.

I placed my order for custom party designs, when will I receive my proof?

Proofs are sent one to two business days after your order is received. Please include all necessary personalization information when submitting your order. Your proof is created based on the information provided.  If information is missing, there could additional delays to getting order finalized. Your order includes two revisions and proofs.  If more changes are needed, a fee of $5.00 a change will be added to your order.

Once I place my order, is it final?

For digital and handcrafted designs, we can refund your order up until the design work has been started.  We try to complete first proofs quickly, so if you’ve changed your mind about your invitation please let us know as soon as possible.

Since instant downloads are delivered directly to your mailbox, we unable to refund the purchase.

Straws, décor and other packaging items are all FINAL sales.  We work hard to process your order quickly, so once you’ve placed your order we are already starting to complete it.

I love the invitation design, but would like to use different colors.  Is this possible?

We try to offer our invitations in a variety of color choices.  If you do not see a color combination that you like, we can create an invitation with custom colors.  There is a $5.00 custom design fee for this service.  Some patterns have set colors and cannot be changed.  Feel free to contact us before placing your order to see if the colors can be adjusted.

Once you created the invitation with my wording, I don’t like the type any more.  It’s hard to read.  Can I change it?

Sometimes your chosen wording can be difficult to read using the set type.  When purchasing an invitation design, you are also buying the use of those fonts on your invitation.  We work hard to select type for our invitations to give them a certain feel and look.  We can make small changes to an invitation’s font (such as switching it out for another font used in the invitation), but we can’t introduce new fonts into the invitation.

How many proofs and revisions do I get?

Proofs are an important part of the design process.  It allows you to see how your invitation is laid out, correct any information and get a feel for the final product.  Each invitation purchase receives two proofs and revisions.  If a mistake is made on our part, we will of course fix it and send you a complimentary proof.  Additional proofs have a $5.00 proof fee.

I’m ordering a digital invitation.  Which file should I order?  A PDF or a JPEG?

We are happy to offer our digital invitations as PDF or JPEG files.  We recommend the PDF file for cardstock printing.  You will receive an 8.5″ x 11″ page with two invitations.  For photo printing or emailing, we recommend selecting a JPEG file.  Please let us know if you have any questions about printing your files.  We’re always here to help.

Do you offer coupons or discount codes?

Of course! Everyone loves a sale! We aren’t always able to give a lot of notice about upcoming sales, so be sure to sign up for our monthly newsletter and follow us on Facebook to find out about monthly specials, short notice flash sales and other fun deals.

I received my order and one of the items is missing or incorrect. What should I do?

Although we strive to get every order perfect, sometimes we occasionally make mistakes. We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Please let us know immediately what items were missing from your order and what was received in its place. We will resend the correct items as soon as possible with a prepaid label to return the incorrect item. Missing or incorrect items must be reported within 5 days of receipt of the order.

I’m not located in the United States, but wanted to order a set of handcrafted invitations and some party supplies.  Can I still place an order?

Our shop is able to ship internationally, but we need to calculate shipping costs and customs fees.  If interested in placing an international order (including Canada), please contact us.  We’d be happy to work with you to set something up.

I ordered printed invitations and noticed there is free shipping.  How are the invitations shipped?  Can I upgrade the shipping to priority mail?

We are proud to offer free shipping within the United States on all of our printed invitations.  Your invitations will be shipped first class shipping.  If you are interested in upgrading to priority mail shipping, just let us know.  We can definitely accommodate this shipping method for a small additional fee.

What happens if my package is lost or stolen during transit?

On occasion packages are sometimes lost or stolen during transit.  We are not liable for packages once they are delivered to the carrier.  We add delivery confirmation to all domestic orders.  We recommend insuring all orders to guarantee delivery.  Unless you have opted to insure your order, we cannot be responsible for any refunds on lost or stolen packages.

I ordered an Instant Download, where is my file?

We are happy to offer some of our designs as Instant Downloads.  Instant Downloads are fantastic for those planning last minute or if you want a quick addition to your celebration.  Your instant download is available for download from the Etsy website within about ten minutes of your payment.  All of our Instant Downloads are PDF files and you will need Adobe Reader to print.  If purchasing an editable file, the font and color have been pre-set for you.  It will match the example file shown in the product photo.

What are the terms of use for my digital files?

Your digital files are for personal use only.  Katarina’s Paperie retains all rights.  This file may not be shared, forwarded, sold or distributed.  Please do not copy.
